About this artwork
Gamle Hamn, the Old Harbour, is a nature reserve on the west coast of Fårö. In the Middle Ages this was a working harbour; in the 14th century great storms threw up beach ridges that sealed its entrance, and the harbour basin survives today as a narrow inland lake about ninety metres long. The reserve also holds a Viking Age burial field and the low ruins of a medieval chapel. On the shore stands the most famous single rauk on Fårö, Kaffepannan, the Coffee Pot, a limestone stack that from the right angle looks like a dog sitting and gazing out to sea.
Every Jason D’s Vision image is an AI-generated artistic interpretation of a real place — original artwork, not a photograph. The label bar on the download may show a creative daylight scenario; that is artistic staging, not a record of a real event.
