About this artwork

Ängsö, in the Stockholm archipelago off Norrtälje, is one of Sweden's first national parks, founded in 1909 to preserve a traditional farming landscape. The island was once two islands, joined during the 19th century as the land rose; a farmer settled here in 1725 and a croft was built at Hemudden, the southern headland where the park entrance and its information shelter now stand. Its hay meadows, pollarded trees and grazing pastures are still managed by the old methods, keeping the flower-rich cultural landscape alive.

Every Jason D’s Vision image is an AI-generated artistic interpretation of a real place — original artwork, not a photograph. The label bar on the download may show a creative daylight scenario; that is artistic staging, not a record of a real event.
