Helge Å, Kristianstad

Just a few hundred metres from Kristianstad's centre, the river Helge å spreads into the wetlands of Kristianstads Vattenrike, a UNESCO biosphere reserve established in 2005 — Sweden's oldest — covering much of the municipality's river, lake and shore-meadow landscape.

About this artwork

Just a few hundred metres from Kristianstad's centre, the river Helge å spreads into the wetlands of Kristianstads Vattenrike, a UNESCO biosphere reserve established in 2005 — Sweden's oldest — covering much of the municipality's river, lake and shore-meadow landscape. The named viewpoint is the boardwalk outside Naturum Vattenriket, the reserve's visitor centre opened in 2010 on the far bank of the Helge å: a timber building raised four metres above the flood-prone ground, its vertical slats echoing the reeds. From the boardwalk and its hide, visitors look through the reed beds over the naturum pond and wetlands, with the city skyline behind — a wild wetland in the middle of a town.

Every Jason D’s Vision image is an AI-generated artistic interpretation of a real place — original artwork, not a photograph. The label bar on the download may show a creative daylight scenario; that is artistic staging, not a record of a real event.
